Jonah 1:5 “Then the mariners were afraid, and cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them. But Jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep”.
When the storm arose, sailors in today’s text began to lighten the ship, a key point is, some of those burdens might not have been necessary, even if they were, the people chose safety first.
Jonah, the actual burden remained unmoved. Ask God to help you identify the needless burdens early.
Talk to God: Father, help me to identify the needless burdens early in Jesus name, amen.
